Borno State faces a growing environmental crisis, characterized by desertification, deforestation, improper waste management, and open defecation. These challenges threaten public health, degrade natural resources, and contribute to climate change. Addressing these issues requires strong collaboration between stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.
In our ongoing commitment to environmental protection in Borno State, ALSAR has taken a significant step by strengthening its strategic partnership with the During an advocacy visit to the office of the General Manager, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman (FNES), ALSARโs team, led by the Assistant Executive Director, Miss Jennifer Okeke in collaboration with Organization Development Specialist, Mr Johnson Ibrahim reaffirmed the ALSAR’s dedication to climate action and environmental sustainability.
A key focus of the discussion was ALSARโs contribution to Borno Stateโs ambitious initiative, “๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ โ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐.” This state-led effort aims to eradicate open defecation, improve sanitation, and promote environmental hygiene. ALSAR recognizes the urgency of this goal and is committed to supporting BOSEPA through targeted interventions, public awareness campaigns, and community-driven initiatives.
The partnership between ALSAR and BOSEPA will enhance existing environmental policies, drive impactful advocacy, and mobilize resources to implement practical solutions. Beyond sanitation, ALSARโs broader climate action strategy includes afforestation projects, waste management initiatives, capacity building, and climate resilience programs designed to mitigate environmental degradation.
We are confident that our collective efforts will lead to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Borno State. ALSAR remains dedicated to working alongside government agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for all residents.
