EDUCATE HER PROJECT

Anchor for Life Support and Resilience (ALSAR), through its self-funded initiative, implemented the six-month EducateHer Project in Musari Community and Garba Buzu Community of Borno State. The project directly targeted 100 vulnerable adolescent girls (aged 10-18 years) and 50 caregivers, with the goal of empowering girls through education while strengthening caregiver support for inclusive parenting.
The project was delivered at community levels providing comprehensive educational support, including the distribution of school bags, uniforms, and writing materials (exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, and erasers), to enhance learning outcomes, improve school retention, and build life skills for adolescent girls while conducting positive parenting sessions with caregivers to foster inclusive practices, reduce discrimination, and create safer environments for girls to thrive.
Key achievements included:
• Increased access to education and improved retention among vulnerable adolescent girls.
• Strengthened life skills, confidence, and advocacy for gender equality.
• Enhanced caregiver capacity to support inclusive parenting and reduce harmful practices.
Through EducateHer, Anchor for Life Support and Resilience (ALSAR) reinforced its commitment to gender inclusion, child protection, and community resilience, contributing to sustainable social, educational, and economic opportunities for girls and their families.
